SPAR convenience stores draw trade from a wide range of demographic profiles. New site locations can be split into two broad categories:
Neighbourhood / Standalone Units
These Traditional sites require 30 customer car parking spaces, with separate service access for HGV articulated vehicles. These sites will predominantly draw from passing trade and local population. We will consider units with a retail selling area of 140sqm (1500sqft) to 465sqm (5000sqft).
City Centre / ‘Hub’ Locations
These latest concept sites are located at the heart of high pedestrian flow areas, trading 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ideally, stores should be easily accessible by car borne customers. Also, there should be separate service access for HGV articulated vehicles. These sites will draw from shoppers, commuters, office staff and late night revellers.
